Dear Parents: Each evening please help your child locate the correct night’s column and have them check off each item as they complete it. After they read for 20 minutes, you sign on the dotted line. The packet is due on the morning of Day 7, Thursday, February 22nd. I will not check or collect
the packet before that date, and I encourage students to only do the suggested pages. We would like your child to become an expert in cursive. To have neat handwriting, we would like your child to practice writing everything in cursive, including homework. This may create some temporary resistance, but after a month, you will see your child writing successfully. This week we are continuing our theme “Animal Habitats” We encourage students to bring in items relating to animals, and place them on our “Realia” shelf. Students will be reading Seal Surfer. In this story, a boy named Ben watches a seal grow and change. Your child will continue to write an animal report. Your child will be practicing adding endings for the spelling pattern. Please have your child practice multiplication and division flashcards each evening for 5 minutes. This practice will help with multiplying larger numbers.
There is no school on Monday, February 19th. Please allow your
child to bring Valentines to school on Wednesday, February 14th.
Please have your child write a respectful message to each child on the cards. These cards can be purchased or homemade.
