Facility Master Plan

The Santa Maria-Bonita School District is currently working with DLR Group Architects to develop a Facility Master Plan.

What is a Facility Master Plan?

Per the California Department of Education:

A Facility Master Plan (FMP) is the compilation and analysis of the information needed by a school board and its community to make informed decisions about school facilities. A FMP is a working document adopted by a formal resolution of the school board after a public hearing. The FMP must be monitored continually and updated frequently to be an effective planning tool.

For more details on what a Facility Master Plan is, what it is used for and how it is developed, please see this Fact Sheet created by the California Department of Education.

Why is SMBSD creating a Facility Master Plan and how will it be developed?
