100 Day Report
From the Superintendent
Beginning my tenure as superintendent of schools for the Santa Maria-Bonita School District (SMBSD), I informed the Board of Education that I would start my first 100 days by meeting with various education partners. Those partners would include administrators, parents, community members, and teachers. The purpose of these meetings were two-fold. First, to begin learning about the SMBSD culture and develop relationships with the people who I would be working with on behalf of SMBSD students. Secondly, to listen and determine from a set of questions, what my focus will be moving forward as the new SMBSD Superintendent. There were three questions that I asked, 1) What do you love about SMBSD? 2) What is a challenge or what should be a focus for SMBSD? and 3) What are your expectations for the superintendent? The answers to these questions would prompt me to create focus areas in order to lay a strong foundation for the work ahead at SMBSD.
